The evaluation is a one-on-one interview that includes the clinician utilizing psychological tests. Psychological tests may be called psychological instruments and they consist of questionnaires, rating scales, etc.
We meet with clients between 1-3 times and we spend a total of about 3-5 hours discussing your experience. If needed, we schedule more time. We charge a flat fee for the evaluations, meaning we do not charge by the hour. The evaluations take this much time because we believe that it’s important to be thorough and obtain all necessary information for the report.
No, therapy and an immigration evaluation are not the same service. The service of the clinician writing an evaluation is focused on the clinician being neutral and unbiased, in order to provide a professional opinion based on information found during the interview. Please understand that the focus of evaluations is not on treatment, the way that therapy or counseling would be. We do however, identify and share recommendations found in order to provide supportive referrals post the evaluation service.
No, the Immigration Evaluations are not covered by insurance. There is extensive and longer hours spent in providing an evaluation, including the length of time spent in the interview, along with collaborating with your attorney, researching and identifying appropriate assessments, and thoroughly typing the evaluation.
The report is typically available 2 weeks after our last meeting. In more urgent cases, we can complete the evaluation sooner, but an expedited fee will apply.
The fee for an immigration evaluation is $900, which includes the clinical interview, collaborating with your attorney, reviewing documents, and the written report. As a courtesy, we send copies to both you and your attorney. Payment plans are available.
Note: **Expedited evaluations are available for an additional fee.
Evaluations are conducted 7 days/week between the hours of 8am-10pm by appointment only. Please contact to discuss what you and your attorney or you and your client require for services.
